So the last 2 weeks I literally lived in the library! Ever second that I was not in class or eating, I was in the library. Since Im in Human Anatomy and Physiology, I spend most my time studying. My major is Dental-Hygiene so I really need to do AWESOME in these classes! Sadly, and I cant believe Im saying this, I failed both my anatomy lab practical AND Phis test! I actually cried! I was angry for failing after so much studying!
Does anyone have other ideas of studying? I read and high light from book....How do you guys go about studying!?
Please help, my brain is about to explode! All the alpha waves in my brain going about unrhythmically!! (if thats even a word)

Hi Nicki!
ReplyDeleteYes, I do have good ideas for studying. Highlighting is a first step but for loads of info to get into your brain and STAY (there's the key), you have to CHUNK it. It's got to go in groups that you can remember with some mnenomic device. So, for music scales: Every Good Boy Eats Deserves Fudge (EGBDF), not hard to remember if you like fudge!
For my art history class where I used to have to memorize a hundred works, artists, dates, styles, I would chunk them into times/styles then put works/artists in order. I'd go over it 3-5 times just before bed, sleep, awake the next morning and hit the list again to refresh it all. I got A+ each time and my friends were amazed. It just took organization!
Sciences are hard, but you'll do fine. Use this class to research stuff you're learning. Why can't you bring dental and science stuff into your global presentations? I mean fluride has definite global implications from production to use. Have you read the book the Fluoride Deception (http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=7319752042352089988#docid=-7984669833566646476)
Thank you so much for your advice! I have actually been using mnenomics alot lately to remember all the nerves in the body!
ReplyDeleteI actually did not know that we can use our area of intersts in our research for global groups! Im sure there will be some interesting facts within the southern hemispher and health! I honestly thought we had to talk about technology and media in that area! I will definately let my group member know!
This fluoride story is very interestinf. i showed this to me boyfriend who is in the dental field was shocked, mouth wide open! haha as was I!
Thanks!!!!
